Anna Maria Island Art League’s 22nd Annual Winterfest Festival of Fine Arts & Fine Crafts

This year Anna Maria Island Art League’s 22nd annual Winterfest Fine Arts and Fine Crafts Festival will be held December 12 and 13, 10 AM – 4:30 PM, at Holmes Beach City Hall Field on Anna Maria Island. Admission and parking are free. Winterfest, one of Manatee County’s oldest and best juried fine arts festivals, selects over 100 highly regarded local, regional and national artists to participate in the weekend event. All artwork is original and handcrafted by the artists. Those attending the festival can browse and purchase paintings, glass, jewelry, pottery, sculpture, fiber arts, photography, wood and more from the artists who produce the work. Winterfest provides the perfect opportunity to find that one-of-a kind holiday gift for someone special. Live continuous music by the Gumbo Boogie Band, The Anna Maria String Band, KoKo Ray, and the Hurricanes is featured on stage Local restaurants and food vendors offer a selection of food for sale ranging from smoked mullet and fried green tomatoes to barbeque, zeppoles, kettle corn and more.AMIAL’s “Young at Art” children’s art exhibit showcases artwork submitted by Manatee County school-aged children. Exhibit winners receive prizes from Keeton’s Office & Art Supply. The activity area offers kids a place to be artists.Festival attendants may also purchase prize drawing tickets at the AMIAL hospitality tent. Not less than 60 valuable donated works by festival artists will be given away. Proceeds from this event benefit AMIAL’s scholarship program. The official artwork for this year's Winterfest and Springfest was commissioned by Margaret Bayalis who received Best of Show at last year's Springfest for her impressionistic style oil paints. Her painting "On Vacation" (image attached) will be featured in all ads and on T-shirts available for purchase at Winterfest and the Art League.
