The Esperanza, a boat restored by the Florida Maritime Museum at Cortez, won two awards recently at the St. Petersburg Classic Car and Antique Boat Show put on by the St. Petersburg Yacht Club. The boat was found in the Florida Keys, having brought six Cubans to the United States. She won an award for the Most Accurate Restoration and a second award in the special category, “The Salty Sisters Award” given by the Women of the St Petersburg Yacht Club.
