BOOK DISCUSSIONS

Jennifer Weiner: The Friends of the Braden River Library invite readers to join the library’s monthly book discussion group on the second Tuesday of the month from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The following titles are scheduled for discussion: April 13, “In Her Shoes” by Jennifer Weiner; May 11, “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer; June 8, “Look Homeward, Angel” by Thomas Wolfe. Cheryl Jarvis: The Friends of the Palmetto Branch Library’ book discussion group meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 10:30–11:30 a.m. at the library, 923 Sixth St. W., Palmetto. Upcoming talks will be April 14, Cheryl Jarvis’ “The Necklace”; and May 12, any titles by authors Ann B. Ross and Margaret Truman. Open to the public. Information: 722-3333.

LOCAL AUTHORS

Poetry collection: Bradenton resident and 1980 Southeast High graduate William Gregory Tice published his first collection of poetry, titled “Someone.” It includes about 40 poems on various subjects and a number of reader reactions to the poems. The book is available at many online sites, including Amazon.com.
