Are you a Southeast High alum?

The student government is celebrating your alma mater’s 50th, and one of their activities is an alumni march at halftime of the Seminoles’ Nov. 6 homecoming game against Bayshore.

There will be a registration booth at the Kiker Stadium gate.

Or call Jason Schiessl at 741-3366, ext. 2052.

n Oh, no! Kris Gause, the real brains at Palmetto’s Horizon Bank Branch, hit the Big 5-0. Bob is amused.

n A bow to UF’s Kendall Williamson, a 2009 Anderson Scholar and nursing student with a 3.96 GPA her first four semesters. Ken, Marla, Kallin, Ken and Joyce are proud.

n Abel Elementary’s annual costume parade will have about 40 staffers wearing pink retro bowling shirts with the logo: Strike Out Breast Cancer.

“We have many staff members who have been affected by this terrible illness,” said clerical assistant Barbara Sylvester.

n Nathan Langford is 1. Cheers from parents Jessica Schultz and Troy Langford and grands Julia and Brian.

n Kenneth and Pamela Smith’s son Sutherland is student director, choreographer and costume designer of his original ballet, based on the “Nightmare Before Christmas,” at Manatee School for the Arts.

Tonight’s final performance is 7 p.m.

n Props to Lynn Pierce, recent inductee into USF Sarasota-Manatee’s National Society of Leadership and Success.

n BCS two-sport athlete Rachel Brown is “Sweet 16.” Cheers from family Gene, Gina and Ryan.

n A shoutout to LRHS freshman Jordan Malzan, a hardworking busboy at Bogey’s Restaurant on State Road 70.

n Wakeskater Nick Taylor, an Anna Maria Island native now living in Carlsbad, Calif., is on MTV2’s The Alli Show, 11 p.m. Saturday.

n Nolan Middle’s Zane Sever is 12. Cheers from parents Roni and Scott.

n Kathy Kelton remembers what Halloween used to be like growing up in Warren, Mich., many moons ago. “We had neat games like throwing darts at balloons. Well, you could do that then without getting sued,” she joked.

n Associate III Jeff Stewart was selected Manatee County Tax Collector’s Most Valuable Employee.

n MHS triple-sport athlete Garrett Waiters is 16. Big ups from family Frank, Kathy and Chris.

n Speaking of MHS, Willie Taggart, the Hurricanes’ 1992 state championship quarterback and now Stanford University’s running backs coach, is Ryan T. Boyd’s guest at 2 p.m. Monday on 1490-AM WWPR.

Call (941) 745-1490.

n Mary and Gregory Randall wish happy 28th to daughter Taccara and happy 27th to daughter Lashawnna.

Cheers, too, from sister Tamika and family Andrew, Kadian, Nijah, Jatorrin and Makayla.

n Palmetto High’s annual Junior Cheer Camp for kindergarten through eighth-graders is 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Call Monica DeLesline at 723-4848, ext. 2032 for details. Or e-mail DeLeslim@fc.manatee.k12.fl.us.

n Say it ain’t so! Williams Elementary art teacher Nancy Seagle hit the Big 6-0!

n Speaking of turning 60, before yours truly paid for a book in Atlanta last Sunday, the cashier asked for some ID.

So I showed the nice lady my driver’s license.

“Boy, that picture needs some updating,” she said.

Ba-da-bum!
