Southeast to celebrate turning 50

The student government is celebrating your alma mater’s 50th, and one of their activities is an alumni march at halftime of the Seminoles’ Nov. 6 homecoming game against Bayshore.

There will be a registration booth at the Kiker Stadium gate.

n Oh, no! Kris Gause, the real brains at Palmetto’s Horizon Bank Branch, hit the Big 5-0. Bob is amused.

n A bow to UF’s Kendall Williamson, a 2009 Anderson Scholar and nursing student with a 3.96 GPA her first four semesters. Ken, Marla, Kallin, Ken and Joyce are proud.

n Abel Elementary’s annual costume parade will have about 40 staffers wearing pink retro bowling shirts with the logo: Strike Out Breast Cancer.

“We have many staff members who have been affected by this terrible illness,” said clerical assistant Barbara Sylvester.

n Nathan Langford is 1. Cheers from parents Jessica Schultz and Troy Langford and grands Julia and Brian.

n Kenneth and Pamela Smith’s son Sutherland is student director, choreographer and costume designer of his original ballet, based on the “Nightmare Before Christmas,” at Manatee School for the Arts.

n Kathy Kelton remembers what Halloween used to be like growing up in Warren, Mich., many moons ago. “We had neat games like throwing darts at balloons. Well, you could do that then without getting sued,” she joked.
