Free agent Hedo Turkoglu will join the Toronto Raptors after spurning the Portland Trail Blazers, according to multiple reports.

The 6-foot-10 forward helped the Orlando Magic to the NBA Finals last season. On Friday, a person close to the Blazers confirmed that Turkoglu ended contract talks with them. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the negotiations.

Turkoglu opted out of his Orlando contract last week.

LITTLE LEAGUE — All 13 players contributed in a total team effort as Manatee East (6-0) beat Manatee National 13-1 in the Manatee County District 26 All-Star Tournament at Braden River.

PEACHTREE ROAD RACE — Sammy Kitwara of Kenya won the 40th running of the race with a time of 27:21 in his debut in the annual 6.2-mile event through the streets of Atlanta.

Horse racing

ECLIPSE STAKES — Sea The Stars became the first horse in 20years to add the Eclipse Stakes title to wins in the English Derby and the 2000 Guineas.

Sea The Stars is only the fifth horse since 1900 to complete the Group One hat trick, after beating Rip Van Winkle by a length at Sandown, England.

UNITED NATIONS — Presious Passion scored a repeat victory in the $750,000 Stakes, smashing the course record in the process Saturday at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J.
