The Manatee High girls soccer team jumped out to a 2-0 lead over St. Petersburg Catholic on Monday night, before falling behind 3-2 and finally settling for a 3-3 tie.
Molly Knight had a goal and an assist, Whitney Conley had a goal and Cori Nolan scored the game-tying goal for the host Canes (10-6-2).
Goalkeeper Tina Papazian had seven saves.
JV: Ashley Wiggins, Julia Shankle, Alex Moore and Ashley Conley scored one goal apiece to lead host Manatee (5-5-2) to a 4-1 victory over St. Petersburg Catholic.
BAYSHORE 9, BOOKER 1 — Nicole Dixon scored four goals, and Lexi Colmorgan had two goals in the host Bruins’ victory.
Ashley Nolan, Whitney Maugherman and Luisa Escobar scored a goal apiece, and goalkeeper Megan Ardis had three saves for Bayshore (5-8-1).
BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 2, TAMPA CARROLLWOOD 1 — The visiting Panthers came back from a one-goal deficit on goals from Jordan Ponto and Kim Mannausa.
Mannausa scored on a header off a corner kick from Rachael Tally.
BCS (6-6-2) had 15 shots on goal and got solid play from defenders Lara Morley, Kristin Eriksen and Kristen Perella.
Goalkeeper D’Arcy Draper had eight saves.
LAKEWOOD RANCH 8, PALMETTO 0 — Senior Alyssa Sherman had three goals and an assist to lead the host Mustangs to their 11th shutout of the season on Senior Night.
Also contributing for Lakewood Ranch (14-2-1) were senior Natasha Pelton (goal, assist), Sherry Walters (goal, assist), Sarah Miller (goal, two assists), goalkeeper Rachel Valari (assist), Madison Bradley (goal) and Kaitlin Deglman (goal).
Boys soccer
SAINT STEPHEN’S 4, RIVERVIEW 1 — Kyle Bellinger had two goals and an assist to lead the visiting Falcons.
Ryley Delgado and Alex Walters both had a goal and an assist, and Jeremy Thompson and Kevin Peterson had one assist apiece.
Goalkeeper Chandler Whidden had seven saves for Saint Stephen’s (11-3-1).
Girls basketball
BRADENTON CHRISTIAN 52, ARCADIA DESOTO 45 — Maria DeKuiper had 25 points and nine rebounds as the Panthers handed the visitors from Arcadia just their second loss.
Hailey Dearlove scored nine points for BCS (9-7), and Rachel Brown contributed five points, six assists and six steals against DeSoto (14-2).
BOOKER 45, BRADEN RIVER 35 — Heather Mirabella had 12 points, including three 3-pointers, and Briannia Dowling had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the host Pirates (10-6, 5-3 Class 4A-10).
JV: Jasmine Fraser and Mimi De Jesus scored 10 points apiece to lead host Braden River (5-1) to a 29-16 victory over Booker.
