Spring flag football is in the air for youth football teams in Manatee County. The East Manatee Bulldogs got things started in the Wildcat level of Pop Warner this past Saturday.
The Bulldogs defeated the Carrollwood Hurricanes 22-12 behind sound offensive and defensive execution.
Quarterback Cody Staton tossed three touchdown passes, converted two extra-point attempts and added an interception on defense.
Chase Tench caught two of Staton's touchdown strikes, going for 30 and 60 yards apiece. Jake Seaman added a 20-yard touchdown reception. Nima Gore was on the end of both point after conversions.

And Evan Brammer led the defense with several flag pulls for losses.
