MANATEE -- Here's what you'll need to know about Major League Soccer's first spring training at IMG Academy:
The schedule is tentative and subject to change, but there are six matches listed. Starting with Friday's game between the Revolution and Malmo, most of the matches start at 7 p.m. The Crew's encounter with Malmo on Feb. 5 is at 3:30 p.m., and kickoff is at 10 a.m. for the Fire and D.C. United on Feb. 12. Matches involving FC Dallas are to be announced. Matches are conducted on IMG Academy's new artificial-turf stadium.
Can be purchased at IMG's website, www.imgacademy.com/events for the following prices: $9 (children), $13 (adults) and $11 (seniors). There is also a season pass and family ticket option plan available. Information for that can be obtained by contacting IMG Academy.
Spectators should head to the entrance off Bollettieri Boulevard/43rd Street West for access to parking.
They are closed to the public, but spectators should follow IMG Academy on Facebook and Twitter
General American food items (hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.) are available for consumption. Smoothie King also will have a stand set up inside the stadium. Most menu items range in price from $3 to $7.
Still undecided on where to obtain autographs from MLS players, but IMG's social media (Facebook and Twitter) is the place to tune into for various fan/community engagement activities.
Cameras are allowed, but there are several items that are prohibited: backpacks, bags (purses and diaper bags allowed, but subject to search), coolers, alcohol or illegal substances, bottles, cans, glasses, umbrellas, noise makers, air horns, pets (except assisted animals), lasers, skates, skateboards, bicycles, weapons or fireworks. Those items are not stored at the gate or allowed into the stadium. They should be returned to your vehicle or thrown away.
