Two days after firing head coach Greg Schiano, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finalized an agreement with former Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith to take over the team, according to multiple media reports.
Jay Glazier of Fox Sports and ESPN are reporting the Bucs and Smith will complete a four-year deal.
Smith, a former linebackers coach for the Buccaneers, was the head coach in Chicago for nine years, compiling an 84-66 record and advancing to the 2006 Super Bowl.
The Bucs finished 4-12 after an 0-8 start under Schiano, who finished his two-year tenure with an 11-21 record.
