BRADENTON – The Marauders (10-20) unleashed a 15-hit attack on the Lakeland bullpen, plating nine straight runs in a 9-5 win over the Flying Tigers (11-14) on Monday at McKechnie Field. Jose Osuna had the top offensive performance, going 3-for-4 with three doubles. Bradenton trailed 2-0 in the early going. Zack Dodson (W, 3-7) surrendered a solo homer to John Murrian in the third inning. Lakeland added a run on Tyler Hanover’s sacrifice fly in the fifth inning. Dodson pitched six innings and struck out three while allowing only those two runs. Dodson has won consecutive starts after dropping six straight decisions. Lakeland’s Kyle Ryan was lifted after three scoreless innings. Josh Carr (L, 1-4) served up a game-tying two run home run to Alen Hanson in the fifth, his sixth of the season. Stetson Allie added an RBI-double in the innings and the Marauders would not trail again. The Marauders tagged Alex Burgos for four runs in the sixth inning, then got Michael Torrealba for two more in the seventh. Oderman Rocha pitched three innings to earn his second save. Rocha allowed three runs in the eighth inning, but bounced back to pitch a scoreless ninth. The Marauders have won the first two games of the series, the team’s first consecutive wins since June 23 and June 24 at St. Lucie. Every Marauder starter hit safely and four Bradenton batters tallied multi-hit games. The Marauders face Lakeland Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Pat Ludwig will start for the Marauders, while the Flying Tigers will turn to Thomas Collier.
