Ricky Almodovar picked up his 100th career win, and the Seminoles went 3-1 on the first day of the Southeast Duals.
Almodovar won all four of his matches at 160 pounds. His 102 career wins place him fifth in school history. David Hernandez (182 pounds) and Chevaugn Rose (heavyweight) also went 4-0 for the Seminoles. Randy Torres (113) and Darrien Grant (195) went 3-1.
Southeast defeated Bayshore (48-9), Fort Myers Dunbar (39-24) and Englewood Lemon Bay (39-33) and fell to Sarasota (51-24) in Pool A. Paonia of Colorado started 5-0 to lead Pool A.
The event, which also features Palmetto, Braden River and Bayshore, will resume at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The Tigers went 2-2 in Pool B on the first day, beating Booker (53-18) and Braden River (54-9) and falling to Brandon (67-9) and Sarasota Military Academy (42-36). Brandon leads Pool B with a 5-0 record.
Bayshore and Braden River are both 0-5.
