The Saint Stephen's football team scored its first two touchdowns via trick plays on the way to a 49-12 rout of Ocoee Legacy Charter on Friday at Moore Athletic Complex.
The Falcons (7-3) handed the ball to pulling guard Wyatt Knopfke for one touchdown then let running back Griffin Donnelly throw a scoring pass in the Sunshine Athletic Conference finale.
Saint Stephen's, which set a program record for victories in a season, finished up third in the Coral Bay Division with the victory. The Falcons gained 418 total yards, more than 300 coming on the ground.
Quarterback Fred Billy threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Jordon Murrell and scored on a one-yard run. Nick Rodhouse and Lothario Jones scored on long runs as well.
Garrett Barnes did a bit of everything for Saint Stephen's. He played defensive back and quarterback and even kicked an extra point. His interception capped the victory.
Legacy finished 5-5.
FROSTPROOF 35, BAYSHORE 27 -- The visiting Bruins rallied for 21 second-half points but fell short against the Bulldogs (6-4).
Bayshore ended its season 1-8.
BOOKER 20, CARDINAL MOONEY 9 -- The Tornadoes (6-3) upended the host Cougars (7-3) in a battle of teams headed to the playoffs.
Cardinal Mooney will host Clearwater Calvary Christian at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the opening round of the Class 3A-Region 2 playoffs.
BROWARD COLLEGE 112, SCF 73 -- The Manatees suffered a lopsided loss on the first day of the Battle of the Beach hosted by Palm Beach State College.
Gustavo Leon led SCF (1-2) with 22 points. D.J. Flippin and Joshua Flody added 16 points apiece. The Manatees missed all 16 of their 3-point field goal attempts.
