Lakewood Ranch had a strong showing during Thursday's Class 3A-District 8 meet at North Shore Pool in St. Petersburg.
The boys won the district title with 350 points and the girls were second with 335.
Luke Hanner had a big day for the Mustangs, taking first in the 200-meter freestyle (1:43) and 100 butterfly (51.95), and swam a leg on Ranch's first-place 200 medley (1:44) and 400 freestyle (3:24) relay teams.
Daniel Erlenmeyer swam on both championship relay teams for Lakewood Ranch and was second in the 200 freestyle.
Braden River's boys were third with 332 points thanks in part to Ryan Walker, the champion in the 50 freestyle (22.12) and 100 freestyle (48.84).
He also swam a leg on the Pirates' first-place 200 freestyle relay team (1:33).
Braden River's Michael Troubeev won the 100 breaststroke (1:05).
The top two finishers in each event automatically qualify for the regional meet.
On the girls side, Madison Jean won the 100 freestyle (53.62) and 100 butterfly (56.93) and Courtney Chapin was first in the 100 backstroke (59.43) for Lakewood Ranch.
The teams return to North Shore Pool on Friday, Oct. 31 for the Class 3A-Region 3 meet.
