BRADENTON -- On a night when Saint Stephen's celebrated its seniors, Palmetto's Gregorio Calvillo stole the show.
Calvillo's three goals led his Tigers to an 8-1 victory, handing the Falcons (7-1) their first loss of the season.
Ronaldo Marcelo found Calvillo on a nice touch pass and it sailed in for a 1-0 lead.
"We are preparing for districts, this game was important. We moved the ball very well," Palmetto head coach Dustin Dahlquist said.
Never miss a local story.
After jumping out to a comfortable 4-1 lead, the Tigers' second unit showed the team has great depth.
"Our second unit played very well tonight. I loved that our starters were so into how well those guys played," Dahlquist said.
Saint Stephen's player Jeremy Jackman scored his teams lone goal at the 15th minute mark, assisted by Jonathan Boyd.
"They play well, I know when we come here it's not going to be an easy win," Dahlquist said of Saint Stephen's.
Tigers junior Matt Simmonds had three saves along with Andy Perez's two.
At the 75th minute mark, Edward Martinez connected on a corner kick that put the game away.
Saint Stephen's will travel and play Manatee on Tuesday night while Palmetto takes on Manatee on Monday night.
