QB Adrian McPherson (Southeast)-Named Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball his senior year when he threw for 3,736 yards and 42 TDs in 2000, which rank third and second respectively among state single season records. He completed 217 of 355 passes and rushed for 765 yards with 10 TDs and his 4,514 total yards of offense ranked second in state history. Played at FSU and in the Arena Football League and the NFL, currently with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL.
RB Chris McNear (Manatee)- Had the decade’s best single season rushing mark in Manatee County when he ran for 1,797 yards in 2005 and averaged 8.6 yards per carry with 18 touchdowns. Had his best game against Cape Coral when he ran for 310 yards.
RB Tevin Bryant (Braden River)- Recorded the second highest single season County rushing mark of the decade when he rushed for 1,613 yards last season and scored 17 touchdowns. A workhorse back, did it against defenses that were geared to stop him.
WR Ace Sanders (Manatee)- Led the area in receptions and reception yardage last season when he caught 66 passes for 991 yards, including nine TD receptions. For his career, had 127 receptions for 2,195 yards and 20 touchdowns.

WR Jarwarski Pollock (Southeast) Arguably the most productive receiver in Manatee County history, caught 76 passes for 1,344 yards and 21 touchdowns as a senior, which ranked him among the top 10 high school receivers nationally all-time. Had 30 TD receptions his last two years for ‘Noles. Had a highly successful career at North Carolina.
Ath Faron Hornes (Southeast)- Played receiver, running back and quarterback for the ‘Noles, in 2005 when he caught 30 passes for 589 yards and 6 TDs, and rushed for 337 yards on 40 carries (8.4 avg) and three touchdowns. For his career, caught 68 passes for 1,225 yards and 14 TDs and rushed for 547 yards.
OL Julius Wilson (Southeast)- Played his last season for the ‘Noles in 2001 (*ck) where he was the spearhead for a running game that featured James Shelley, who ran for 1,458 yards and 15 TDs during the regular season. Played at UAB and spent some time in the NFL with the Bucs and Dolphins. Currently with the Arena Football League Orlando Predators.
OL Jeremy Michele (Manatee)- The best offensive lineman at Manatee High since Joe Kinnan returned, spearheaded an offense that rushed for a Manatee County high 220 yards per game in 2005 and enabled McNear to put up his big numbers. Signed with Baylor.
OL Tyler Rice (Lakewood Ranch)- A bruising tackle with quick feet and athleticism, was named one of the top 100 prospects in the state during his senior year for the Mustangs in 2004. The durable three year starter did not miss a game his final two seasons. Graded out to a 90 percent his senior year when he was credited with 50 pancake blocks and did not give up a sack. Played at Tulane.
OL Cody Hughes (Lakewood Ranch)- A three year starter and two time All-State selection was named 5A Offensive Lineman of The Year his senior season in ’05. Credited with 82 pancake blocks his senior year, spearheading an offensive line that enabled the Mustangs to average more than 300 yards per game to rank second in Manatee County.
OL Austin Reiter (Lakewood Ranch)- The only experienced offensive lineman on the Mustangs ’09 team, took charge of the offense and cleared the way for Taryn Laws to rush for 984 yards and a passing game that produced 1,326 yards. The 6-4, 250 pound tackle is a USF and is expected to move to center after most likely taking a redshirt season in 2010.
