Three IMG Academy golfers were named American Junior Golf Association Rolex Junior All-Americans recently.
Nelly Korda was a first-team selection, Qi Wen Wong was named to the second team, and Jose Montano was listed as an honorable mention.
The 16-year-old Korda, whose older sister, Jessica, is an LPGA star, won her first career national tournament back in March at the Kathy Whitworth Invitational. She also logged runner-up finishes at the TaylorMade-adidas Golf Junior at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor and the Scott Robertson Memorial.
Never miss a local story.
Korda registered top-15 finishes in all of her 2014 events en route to a No. 4 place in the Polo Golf Rankings.
Wong notched three top-10 performances to snag second team honors. Playing her final junior season, she closed out the year ranked No. 25 in the Polo Golf Rankings.
Montano became an honorable mention for the second straight year on the strength of a tie for fourth at the TaylorMade-adidas event and a tie for third at the FJ Invitational. His junior career ends with a No. 40 ranking in the Polo Golf Rankings, and the 18-year-old is a freshman at Xavier University in Ohio.
The AJGA Rolex All-American teams are composed of 96 junior golfers, ages 14-19, from various countries and states, and are slated for honor at the awards banquet Nov. 23 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens.
The annual City of Bradenton Men's Amateur is scheduled for this weekend at River Run Golf Links.
The two-day, 36-hole individual stroke-play tournament begins Saturday and concludes Sunday.
