HOLE TO REMEMBER: No. 15, at 378 yards, is a par-5 that appears easy until you play it. With water 30 yards in front of the green and out of bounds left, it might be a good idea to keep an extra ball handy.
UNFORGETTABLE: The sixth hole is a 296-yard par-4 with a mature oak in the middle of the fairway, requiring strategic placement off the tee. There also is out of bounds down the right side.
INSIDE INFO: The course takes great pride in its greens, which are unusually slick and smooth compared to most executive courses. The putting surfaces were renovated in the summer of 2003, when Champion ultradwarf was installed.
DID YOU KNOW?: Course superintendent Joe Nuzback has been at Pinebrook/Ironwood for about 15 years, and the dedication of Nuzback and his crew shows in the condition of the layout.
