Connor Joe homered and drove in four runs to power Bradenton to a 6-4 victory against Brevard County on Friday in a Florida State League game at McKechnie Field.
Joe drove in the game’s first run in the second with a groundout. He ripped a two-run homer in the fourth that pulled the Marauders (44-40, 6-10) within one run, 4-3. he drove in the tying run with a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. Michael Suchy (2 for 3) followed Joe’s walk with a two-run infield single.
The late rally made a winner out of Junior Lopez (2-2). Nick Neumann earned his sixth save.
The Manatees (26-57, 3-12) scored all four of their runs in the fourth, an inning fueled by four hit batters — all with four strikes.
