The Marauders (41-35, 3-5) dropped their fourth straight game Friday night, falling to the Charlotte Stone Crabs (37-40, 4-4) by a final score of 6-3.
Bralin Jackson got the Stone Crabs on the board in the top of the second with a solo shot to right centerfield to make it 1-0. The Marauders tied the game in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single by Taylor Gushue.
But the Stone Crabs responded in the top of the third with four runs, three of which came on a home run by Grant Kay, for a 5-1 Charlotte lead.
The Marauders cut the lead in half in the seventh on RBIs by Cole Tucker and Tito Polo. Marauders’ lefty Stephen Tarpley struggled, pitching 3 1/3 innings and allowing five hits, six runs (four earned), and three walks with four strikeouts.
Stone Crabs starter Benton Moss went the first six innings, giving up five hits, three runs (one earned), and two walks, with five strikeouts.
