Manatee County officials head to Switzerland for rowing championships

Rowers use makeshift venues while construction takes place on the regatta island at Nathan Benderson Park. Officials are bidding to land the 2017 World Rowing Championships at the venue.

Manatee officials will be joining a contingent from Sarasota County and representatives of a nonprofit foundation headed by Benderson Development Co. executive Paul Blackketter.
