I would like to thank the Bradenton Herald, METV, Bay News 9, and the League of Women Voters for combining their professional services to best inform and educate the community regarding all of the candidates seeking public office.
This process and open format provides an avenue to present our individual ideas, passions and vision for a better Manatee County.
Although I did not receive the full endorsement of this newspaper, I feel that you have reached out and embraced my candidacy. Although it has been pointed out that I am not an experienced, career politician, I am certainly no stranger to serving the residents of our county through my years of being employed in the sheriff's office.
And although it has been mentioned that I am a newcomer to being directly involved in the election process, I am a lifelong resident of our county and my district and a product of our public school system.
What sets this 35-year-old apart from the incumbent is my youth, energy and outward passion to reach out and personally communicate with the people from one end of my huge district to the other. I am proud of my grass-roots campaign, which operated on a tight budget, and I am able to boast that I have not accepted special interest money.
I have proven that if you have drive, ambition and fresh new ideas, people want to listen and they are excited to get behind your efforts, no matter what political party initial is after your name. People are hungry for new leadership.
I am counting on your vote as you will be able to Count on Corie for voting fairly on all issues that will come before me.
I will help facilitate job creation, I will work to keep our taxes low, and make sure we have a safe and prosperous Manatee County.
