After reading the July 10 editorial about Bradenton’s progress, although commendable, you neglected to report what the city is not addressing.
As we travel through town, am I the only one who is appalled at the conditions of our roadway medians? They are lush, all right; our medians are full of weeds, trash and debris!
These are not in blighted areas, either — even the cement ones on Manatee Avenue, Cortez Road and Martin Luther King Boulevard are overgrown. After the influx of visitors over the Fourth of July holiday, it is shameful that this is the image they carried away from our city.
Can’t we do better than that? I realize we have more important issues at hand than weeds, and I appreciate all that our city does; but a little attention to detail is what makes our town look well-loved and appreciated.
