I couldn't help but sense the frustration of Lt. James Racky of the Bradenton Police Department in his reporting of the arrest of a suspect wanted for murder (Bradenton Herald, "Bradenton police seek help in double homicide that 'was not random'"). The suspect apparently was hidden and assisted by others, which is also a crime.
Why do some people look the other way when robberies, assaults and deadly acts happen? The police do their best to protect and serve but are thwarted by an element of our society where words like honor, decency and respect are turned upside down.
See a crime, report it! You can do it anonymously if necessary.
It'll take time, but you'll have a safer and better community. You reap what you sow!
