School board member Dave Miner's recent actions proves he is by far one of the most deplorable and disgraceful school board members Manatee County has ever seen. Miner continuously steps over his role as board member, starts dramas the district does not need and gets into business he has no business getting into.
Miner had no business getting himself in between the scuffle with Bob Gause and Mitchell Teitelbaum at the July 28 board meeting. Miner had no business continuing to bring up the issue between Gause and Teitelbaum at the Aug. 11 meeting after Gause asked Miner not to bring it up. Miner had no business calling for Teitelbaum to be removed from the dais, which is not a board member's call to make.
Luckily, we have Dr. Diana Greene as a superintendent who does not cower down to the demands of irrational board members. She stood firm in her words that Teitelbaum would not be removed from his position.
Text messages between Teitelbaum and former Superintendent Rick Mills that Miner recently released to the media are nothing more than Miner retaliating against Teitelbaum. Mills is no longer with the school district; Teitelbaum sending or receiving messages with Mills is irrelevant.
Never miss a local story.
Miner once again acts like he is the king of the school district and it's his way or the highway.
Manatee's school district has the chance for true forward progression under Dr. Greene's leadership; however, she needs a board that focuses solely on the schools and the students. She needs a board that leaves childish actions, politics and ill-will at the door.
Miner is no "Watchdog" but rather a "Maddog" and we, the voters, must vote for change in November 2016. Manatee County cannot afford another four years of Dave Miner on our school board.
