A few weeks ago, a letter writer wrote in praising more and more new homes and giving our permits to build wherever there is open territory. Whoa!
1. The roads and streets in Bradenton and Sarasota are overcrowded and many are in need of repair. Trying to get on or off ramps on Interstate 75 at certain times is like playing bumper carts at a carnival.
2. Farm lands are shrinking too fast. Go to the grocer and find overpriced green peppers, tomatoes and other veggies.
3. All animals, even snakes, have a purpose in our environment. Their habitat is getting smaller and smaller.
Never miss a local story.
4. Last but not least, as cities grow so does crime. Just look at the decay in Detroit, Cleveland, Miami and New York. Our excellent Sheriff Brad Steube needs more deputies. As population grows, so does crime.
Readers, think about the above items!
