OK, got my coffee, time to read the front page of my Bradenton Herald and learn the latest news that affects my and everyone's daily life:
Oh, work started on the lighting of Manatee Avenue West. Great! All of us in Bradenton and Manatee County should be safer. Ditto for the work progressing on the new Fort Hamer Bridge. U.S. Embassy reopens in Cuba; interesting to all of us who have lived through the missile crisis. Florida Legislature's to start over on redistricting... an issue that all voters in Florida should be aware of.
Wait! The headline, "Alleged shooter turns himself in" An incident between two young men that is happening all too often and affects only them and their families has earned top billing! This kind of news is better placed in the crime briefs, or at least in the local section, rather than continuous detailed accounts on the front page.
Never miss a local story.
