I booked a round-trip flight for my wife and I from Tampa to Atlantic City, N.J. We were to fly out on June 2 and return June 10.
On Memorial Day, my wife had a heart attack. She was hospitalized and stents were put it. The doctor advised her not to fly for eight weeks, maybe not at all during the summer.
We notified the airline via our travel agent and asked for a flight some time later this year, health permitting. We were told I had to use existing tickets within 60 days or lose my money. It was going to cost us an additional $50 per ticket to reschedule.
I asked for a refund as I felt this was unfair and was told we would get a refund of $120.

This would cost me $432 and unfortunately I don't have the funds to try and fight them in court.
I think this is unfair and something needs to be done to help others.
