I have become increasingly upset by the number of vehicle crashes on I-275 and I-75. It seems to me the most likely cause is from drivers going up the "down" ramps.
I have studied several of these ramp locations and can see how these mistakes could be made. There are a plethora of signs in the areas for directions, food, gas, wrong way, up ramps, etc. Coupling these with traffic lights, arrows and heavy traffic conditions must be very confusing to many drivers, particularly at night.
It seems one way to approach a solution would be to put large lighted signs at the bottom of each "down" ramp facing out with the following lettering, "Off-Ramp! Do Not Enter."
This would, of course, be expensive but with electric power already to these areas, it would seem to me the minimized costs would well be worth the life-saving installations.
