Oh, please, Mr. Russell W. Stevens (Letters, "Obama voters to blame for failing to get policy details," Nov. 11), I thought the Republican win has been interpreted as voters requesting both parties to play nice and get something done. But, to quote, "Here we go again." Now you should be interested in making government financially weak.
Chris Matthews listed some of Obama's accomplishments in spite of the obstacles. Some include saving us from going over a financial cliff with the Bush recession; regaining millions of jobs after Bush lost over 800,000 a month; and dealing with the unregulated financial institutions that put us in jeopardy.
The Affordable Care Act is an act of compassion, and all the Republicans can say is to throw these ill and needy people on the street even though our country is the most expensive and have more people uninsured. Anyhow, his list was long. The 1 percent is soaring, and the middle class is in poverty because of Republican "protection."
Yes, he was elected twice, If only he could have counted on our very own Congress who made one statement, "We have to make him a time-term president." And even they could not keep their own promise.
