In the past couple of months I've been riding my bike to Emerson Point. Every time I've ridden, I've noticed a man walking and picking up garbage. Finally, being the inquisitive individual that I am, I asked if he was an employee.
To my surprise he told me his name is Ray Wild and he said he was not an employee. However, he travels the 5-6 miles by foot carrying a bucket and a trash picker seven days a week unless it's raining.
He has been doing this for quite some time with no pay and no thanks. There should be some way to thank this man for keeping Emerson Point so pristine. Even a simple thank you from the individuals using the park would probably make the man feel better.
Never miss a local story.
