Carol Whitmore has the most experience to make the best commissioner for Manatee County District 6. She has served as a city commissioner and a mayor of Holmes Beach. She was elected as a county commissioner in 2006 for the countywide seat.
She has proved herself when she has made statements about bringing jobs to the county, about keeping taxes low and having less government growth.
She voted for and implemented the "Jobs Now" program that brought 4,000 new jobs to the county.
She hasn't voted to raise the millage rate since 1996 as a city commissioner, mayor or county commissioner.
She has been instrumental in supporting diversification in planning so as not to just rely on tourism and construction, but she knew the importance of revitalizing downtown Bradenton by supporting Riverwalk park and helping with the parking lot agreement for the new restored hotel. She recognized the impact that sports tourism has on our economy.
She has been overseeing Port Manatee through its ups and downs and now we are seeing companies make contracts with the port. This will bring more jobs and money into our county.
Even with the problems with the county animal shelter, her heart is in the right place to make things better and work with the community to find better solutions with the "No Kill" policy she started.
As a nurse in our community, she has talked about her desire to help those in need of good health care. She is committed to working with the medical community and discussing ways that can be provided.
She is a tireless, approachable and confident person in this position. She has proved herself to be the best candidate for the County Commissioner District 6 seat.
Vote to re-elect Carol Whitmore.
