In recent weeks, it appears to me that signs supporting incumbent Manatee County Commissioner Carol Whitmore appear mainly on the property of businesses. Signs supporting challenger Terri Wonder appear mainly on residential properties.
An unscientific analysis might indicate that business owners see pro-growth Whitmore as best to continue to serve their interests, and homeowners see ecology-minded Wonder as best to serve their interests.
Since there are more homeowners than there are business owners, you might conclude that Terri Wonder is more likely to win in November. But only if large numbers of homeowners vote.
If you were one of the record number of attendees at the August 2013 Manatee County commission meeting or wish that you were, please follow through and vote.

Remember that one of the homeowners' strong allies, Michael Gallen, lost by five votes when only one in five eligible voters turned out for the August primary election.
On the bright side, Robin DiSabatino, another strong ally of homeowners, won handily despite being castigated by Whitmore and other party leaders for putting her values ahead of party loyalty.
Let's not go into 2015 thinking "If only ..."
