I read with interest the Herald's Sept. 12 article on the two-year voter fraud probe in Florida. This included "instances where voters had their party affiliation switched from Democrat to Republican."
I just registered to vote in Manatee County, having moved here from out-of-state. I received my voter registration card and started to put it in my wallet when I noticed a strange three-letter code.
My eyesight not being what it once was, I got the magnifiers out -- and discovered my party had been switched!
The county election office had no good explanation for why this had occurred, especially when they brought up my form on the computer and saw that I had clearly checked off the "other" party.
In my 40-plus years of voting, over three states and eight different polling districts, I have never had my party "mistakenly" switched.
I know Florida gets a bad rap for its voting problems, but isn't it interesting that this very suspicious error didn't happen until I moved to Florida. Maybe the probe should continue.
