On my drive to work Thursday from Palmetto to Sarasota, I encountered something very frustrating. This is not the first time this has happened, it happens on a weekly basis.
As I am getting ready to leave my house I hear the Tropicana OJ train whistle and know that my morning drive will not be good.
When I get into Bradenton and head east to Highway 301, I get caught by the train. Then as I turn to head south I get caught again in front of the Red Barn Flea Market.
As I am sitting in traffic for 15 minutes I wonder about all the gas that is being wasted, all the people that are going to be late for work.
Never miss a local story.
Why does this happen? Seems like a colossal waste of people's time and money.
Just wondering if there is anything that can be done about this. Why can't the train wait until rush hour is over out of respect for the community.
Sure would be a way to sell more orange juice, but right now maybe the community should just boycott it.
