I am sick to death of people bashing President Obama for supposedly lacking a cohesive foreign policy. People aren't used to a president who is deliberate in his thinking, taking into account the consequences of his decisions.
For too long the U.S. had made decisions that have proven costly, both financially and in manpower, and has even stirred resentment in other nations.
Other countries must settle their own disputes. Certainly, there are times when intervention is necessary when our own interests are at stake or when there are crimes against humanity. But it is wise to intervene only when we can partner with allied countries.
Some say we should have given support to moderate rebels in Syria, thereby neutralizing ISIS. That's pure speculation. Do we know who the moderates are and could they be trusted?

Negotiations, boycotts and sanctions must always be tried first before military intervention. The president is doing just that. People who criticize the president for political gain are reprehensible.
