In the Aug. 16 Herald a woman from Willowbrook related being told by a 911 operator to do CPR on a workman who had died on her driveway in 2010.
I find it very hard to believe that any emergency operator would instruct a civilian to do CPR on a stranger, including mouth to mouth. Even the EMS responders don't do mouth to mouth without protection and have not for decades.
I know we have a Good Samaritan law in Florida that will protect you in such a case, but while I would call 911, I stopped taking 911 classes many years ago because I realized that I could not remember the steps to take even a week after the course.
I know not to move an accident victim, would try to move someone from immediate danger but other than the phone call I don't feel that I am qualified to do any field first aid.
