Accountability, transparency and results mean re-electing Karen Carpenter and Julie Aranibar to the Manatee County school board.
The Manatee district was in a horrible mess, and Carpenter and Aranibar have shown through committed leadership, time and due diligence that they could make the hard calls.
They have asked the tough questions, hired a talented team and supported the best teachers in the state. We can't let these positive changes come to a stand still. The momentum supports giving Carpenter and Aranibar more time.
Tough decisions have been made, needed changes have been put in place and as expected not everyone is happy as our district moves forward.
Under their leadership, this district is beginning to be a true school system focused on all of our students, not a system of schools where equity didn't mean much.
Voters can be sure that moving forward means not going back to some of the same bad decisions from the past.
When a transformation is made, it takes time for those changes to have an impact. We are beginning to see the impact of those changes and there will be more positive results to come. It takes time for change to impact.
Vote to keep Carpenter and Aranibar on the school board. They have questioned the most, supported the superintendent and his team, and will help schools support students as they "learn, dream and achieve."
Vote for Karen Carpenter and Julie Aranibar Aug. 26 for Manatee County school board to continue the progress of the Manatee school district. Manatee County students deserve it.
