Our latest immigrant problem is not the children on our border; it is the children in our Congress. I speak of the children who have temper tantrums at the mere mention of the word immigrant.
The same children who turned on one of their own (Sen. Marco Rubio) who dared to even think of reform.
Instead of the Band-Aid approaches that we hear every day, why not try what we know works, the process that earned us the respect of the entire world and earned us a Statue of Liberty?
Why fight success? Let's do it again. Let's build an Ellis Island in Arizona (minus the Hudson River, of course). Let's restore the selective process that gave destitute people an opportunity to work, learn our history and language, and earn their citizenship.
Perhaps, if we give each of our congressional children a lollipop, they might just think about it.
