In the United States of America, our form of government is a republic, not a democracy. We are a federal constitutional republic to be more exact.
This is a limited form of government wherein the Constitution expressly defines what the government can and cannot do.
In this form of government the head of state and other officials are elected to represent us and must govern according to existing constitutional law, which limits the government's power over all of its citizens.
On all the illegals crossing our borders, I have concerns. There are way too many crossing to pretend it is not happening or to say it is happening elsewhere and not here.
Granted, the majority are children traveling alone so we are apt to think just that they are only children. Not true.
Many are teenage gang members. Many have criminal records. Many are coming over with illnesses from TB to measles. Who has been immunized? Mental health problems have not surfaced yet but they will be coming.
Kids with no families, wearing the clothes they came over in. Adverse living conditions, crowding, little food and lack of bathroom facilities all make for a miserable existence. Is this humane?
By letting these illegals in we are encouraging more to come. They are paying to be brought to the border. This is a money-making opportunity so these people will go back to pick up more and more children/families.
Who knows what these illegals are being told?
With most of the border guards on childcare duty, there is hardly anyone actually guarding the borders. Terrorists cross, blend in, then disappear. So not safe!
