With regards to Gerrard Wilbur's June 30 letter to the editor, I feel an important clarification has to be made.
There is no argument that the climate is changing. The climate has been changing for thousands of years and there is data that shows that.
The argument is not that there is climate change but whether it is "man-caused" climate change.
As conservatives we have to keep our eye on the words used by liberals. They are masters at changing the words they use in order to change reality.
The reality is that conservatives, like me, don't believe in man-caused climate change. Let's make sure that this is clear.
As for Republicans only caring about their rich constituency, EPA regulations don't just affect big corporate conglomerates, they effect small manufacturers, their families and their employees.
These regulations have more of a negative impact on our (dwindling) middle-class than anything else.
If you are going to make a statement about this issue, please be careful to be clear as to what the real disagreement is.
