I am an environmental scientist who has been in the field for almost 30 years. I know firsthand the importance of environmental regulations and how critical they are to protect our land, water and the air we breathe.
Rep. Vern Buchanan, just this past week alone, voted three times to weaken environmental protection: he voted to weaken environmental reviews of cross-border oil pipelines, voted against prevention of underground pipeline spills in the Great Lakes and voted to authorize new oil and gas explorations in large expanses of the Outer Continental Shelf near Southern California, Virginia and South Carolina.
These votes show us why we need to replace Vern Buchanan this November with a candidate who cares for the protection of our environment.
Henry Lawrence will be challenging Vern Buchanan this fall. Let's back a candidate who supports protection of our life-sustaining environment.
As Henry Lawrence says on his website, he "supports proactive measures to protect our air, water, and land. Climate change is a reality!"
