After reading Wednesday's paper, I must ask for clarification on reporting child abuse. In my humble opinion, child abuse is just that ... child abuse.
How can one be found guilty, serve one day probation and be found not guilty on the same count of failure to report? Failure to report is just that, failure to report.
That means no one in authority was told. These former Manatee High School administrators told no one. The whole process of these assistant principals makes me sick.
Putting a water bottle between the legs of a teenager is child abuse! If nothing else, it is using your position to abuse children.

Now I see that these stand-up citizens want their jobs back. Well, I for one say no.
Is Manatee County crazy? What will they fail to report next time, rape? Is that what it takes to do your job, a forcible act?
These teens are just that, teens. They are still children.
You people in charge should really take a long hard look at these men. They do not deserve to be rehired. Let them go elsewhere.
Manatee County will have lost nothing, and perhaps gained some respect within the community.
Shame on all of you who knew things and did not report them.
