I have two concerns about the Manatee County school board considering raises for themselves and giving themselves iPads, etc.
First, how can they possibly consider they have earned a raise; school funds are still not where they should be. All the classroom and students needs should come first.
The same goes for the increase of salaries for the superintendent's office.
They said just a few years ago they would work hard to restore faith in the Manatee school board. This is not the way to do it!
Second: Why are so few people protesting these people voting themselves a raise and benefits? Is that because they feel the board isn't listening to them?
I still have little faith in them, and I do believe there is a problem at the top when our long-time school employees are leaving the district under less than desirable circumstances. Rod Frazier may have been the sour apple, but he did not rot the entire barrel.
