The U.S. government has overstepped its authority; Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 grants ownership to the federal government of 10 square miles (only) for the erection of forts and dock yards -- period.
It does not have the right to come into a state and take land and charge for grazing rights. Only the states can charge for rights to graze on state sovereign land.
People are fed up with all the federal bureaus like the IRS, Postal Service, BLM, EPA and the DHS installing SWAT teams.
What happened at the Bundy Ranch is only the start and it will get worse before it gets better. The Nevada governor and the county sheriff could have stepped in and told the BLM to either leave this area or we will arrest every federal agent on this land.
Never miss a local story.
State sovereignty trumps the fed's when it comes to the people of the state and private property. I believe a sheriff, about 10 years ago, took his SWAT team out to a ranch to protect a rancher and his cattle from the feds. The good sheriff that knows the Constitution and swore an oath to uphold the Constitution and being an elected official of the county told the feds to leave or go to his county jail, under arrest.
Well, the feds left and never came back again because the sheriff was serious and within the law.
Time to stand up, people, or just cry and moan.
