Recently, when a red warning light went on in the car as I prepared to drive to Manatee Memorial Hospital for my volunteer stint, I thought ... Oh no!
Should I call AAA? That will take awhile. How will I get to work? Call a cab. Takes too long and that doesn't fix the car, which I will need tomorrow.
Woe is me! Now, be sensible. What you need is a mechanic. Of course, the nearest? On Manatee Avenue.
Rush hour... yikes!
I gritted my teeth, held my breath (which does no good at all) and prayed. A lot. All the way to Midas on Manatee.
When I finally pulled into the parking area at Midas, a young man, already busy, came to my rescue. He quickly diagnosed the problem, gave me the printed estimate for repair, which I read.
And since he noticed I was in uniform, I guess, arranged a ride to the hospital for me. I was barely half an hour late.
Long story short, our car was successfully repaired at a reasonable cost, on time, by noon, and this little old lady got the royal treatment.
Thank you again, Forrest and Robert, from a grateful customer.
