To the reader who wrote a letter about S.R. 64 and S.R. 70 being forgotten, are you kidding me?
I am assuming you are referring to the beautiful trees that have been planted at the exit of U.S. 301 and I-75. Those are not "route improvements," that is landscaping.
Do you live in Parrish, visit the Ellenton Outlet, or just drive by on Interstate 75? If you live in Parrish or go to the Outlet, then you know that is not a road improvement.
The traffic is horrendous, and the area has not had any road improvements other than paving.
Never miss a local story.
If you wander past the exit, it's still the same weeds you have.
However, S.R. 64 has been under construction for about eight years. OK, maybe eight years is an exaggeration, but it's been many, many years and it's still not done.
S.R. 70 has also been improved with better exiting and more lanes.
Yes, we pay the same taxes, but you got better roads, and we got trees. I love them, though!
