To answer a recent letter writer’s question about why I watch Fox News if I don’t like it, I choose to watch several cable news networks to get all points of views, unlike the writer, who apparently watches only Fox because it supports her own neo-conservative point of view.
I would guess that she was really upset when Fox finally fired the demagogue Glenn Beck, whom they allowed to spew his hatred and lies for years until he went too far, even for Fox.
The writer asked where I got the information that 54 percent of Americans support the “occupiers.” It was from Quinnipiac University, which conducts well recognized, independent surveys on political issues.
I’m sure she didn’t see this on Fox because the results disagree with their portrayal of the “occupiers” as communists, socialists, unAmerican malcontents looking for a handout, when actually the vast majority of them are American workers such as teachers, firefighters, police and returning military veterans who are seeking a job, not a handout.
Furthermore, her assertion that because I support the “occupiers” I support anarchy is ludicrous! What I do support is the Constitution, which gives ALL Americans the right to protest.
I agree with the letter writer that the people will decide what is wrong with our country and who might fix it in the next national election. Unfortunately for neo-cons, the polls are showing that the only candidate who might beat Obama is the formerly moderate Mitt Romney.
To quote former Florida U.S. representative Joe Scarborough, a staunch, but reasonable conservative, “Most conservatives would rather lose to Obama than win with Romney, who will turn into another big spender like George Bush. That way they can continue to bash Obama for four more years instead of having to bash a Republican.” What a dilemma!
