Dear voters: Are you not alarmed by the negative campaign of Dave Miner’s opponent? Is this really the type of person you want to see setting policy for our schools and our students ? Her lack of energy and laziness has always been evident but the nasty campaigning is incredible.
I am referring to the negative signs saying No to Watchdog. Well, I feel confident that Dave Miner is watching over the policy on the school board. As a mother of a Manatee High School teacher and grandmother of a Manatee County student, I see David Miner attending almost every event so he can better understand the needs of Manatee schools. I have never seen his opponent at any such event!
Please vote for class as well as the classroom. David is running a very professional, positive campaign for our students. He has been attending school board meetings for over 25 years — way before he was elected. David cares and does not need the paycheck. He is self financing his campaign because David Miner cares. He receives no special interest money.
Please remember that Misty Servia is 75 percent financed by developers who simply want more schools so they may sell more houses. Is this what you want? Certain schools may be needed but please do not use our tax dollars so developers can build more houses at our expense. Our tax dollars belong in the classroom.
Please vote for energy, intelligence and spirit. David Miner serves us well!
Donna Hayes, former Manatee County commissioner
