A reminder: The Mark Wandall Traffic Safety Act eliminated fuzzy state law that provided a defense for motorists who make rolling right turns on red. The change went into effect on July 1, 2013.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office provided clarity on that issue with Friday's letter to the editor by Sgt. Mike Kenyan, the agency's traffic unit supervisor.
That came in response to another letter that cited the older law, no longer applicable.
It matters not if an intersection has a red-light camera. Drivers must come to a complete red-light stop at all intersections.
