Astounding. Truly astounding. How else to describe not one but two family members with 13 years of perfect attendance in school. And a third poised to achieve the same remarkable accomplishment.
How do people stay so healthy? And driven?
Kudos to Manatee High senior Courtney Schmidt, lauded for her achievement from kindergarten though 12th grade in Herald education reporter Erica Earl's Thursday account of the school's graduation ceremony.
Apparently, once is not enough. Courtney's mother, Jennifer Schmidt, a Bayshore graduate, also scored a perfect record, and Courtney's younger brother, Josh, a sophomore, is on track to follow in their footsteps.
What happened to senior skip day? That would have been a foregone MIA day if there every was one.
We have to admire dedication to education. Kudos to the Schmidt family!
And all the best to Courtney as she continues her education at State College of Florida with a career in nursing in her plans.
